Don is an Advisory Partner & Principal of the New England Consulting Group, and a key member of our consumer packaged goods and global brand portfolio practice teams.
Don’s career spans 25 years of General Management, as a senior business leader with a unique combination of functional, international and multi-category management expertise. Don has a very successful track record in complex environments initiating and leading critical business transformations while growing revenues and profits.
Don began his career at Campbell Soup, where he worked his way up through the ranks to Vice President of Marketing. He managed brands such as Pepperidge Farm Pastries, Swanson Frozen Dinners, V8 Cocktail Juice, Franco American Spaghetti and Campbell’s Chunky Soups.
Following Campbell Soup, Don led a distinguished career at Kellogg Europe, culminating in his appointment to President & CEO of Kellogg International. Through his restructuring implementation, Don was able to transition from a multi-country to a single European organization. He also developed and executed a competitive business model that ended share erosion while adding value through revenue and growth. This effort resulted in increased profitability in Great Britain, Southern and Northern Europe, and South Africa.
At Kellogg Asia-Pacific, Don’s achievements included, but were not limited to, establishing the once-interrupted Korean business for profit and growth, instituting and resourcing the Asian Export Company to focus on emerging Asian markets, enhancing market leadership positions in Australia and evolving supply chain as well as sales and industrial relations initiatives.
More recently, Don worked at the New England Consulting Group as a Managing Partner & Principal, where he managed a number of engagements for Ben & Jerry’s, Heinz, Smucker’s and Tropicana, in consumer packaged goods; Capital One, in financial services; Jenny Craig, in diet systems; Knoll/Abbott, in healthcare; and Purdue Chicken and Premium Farms, in animal protein.
Don holds a B.A. in Mathematics from the University of Waterloo and an MBA in Business Administration, Finance and Economics from McMaster University.
