Jim O’Donnell is an Advisor & Principal of the New England Consulting Group and a key member of our automotive practice team.
Jim joined BMWNA in March 2008 as President and COO and in June of that year became Chairman and CEO of the Group in North America with responsibility for the US, Canadian and Mexican markets, a position he held until his retirement at the end of 2011. During his tenure, BMW became the Number 1 premium brand in the US and Canada and was a key contributor to BMW’s worldwide record profitability in 2011.
Prior to his arrival in the US, Jim served as Managing Director of BMW UK from 2000 to 2007 where he oversaw the doubling of sales and the successful launch of the new MINI. Jim’s global experience has covered the UK, Ireland, South Africa and the North American markets.
Before joining the BMW Group in 1990, Jim held various positions in Finance and Sales and Marketing at Ford of Europe, the starting point of his automotive career.
Jim is now bringing his global experience to the New England Consulting Group. His worldly sophistication matched with decades of experience and quick wit makes him a valuable addition to our automotive practice.
Jim is a qualified accountant and has a LLB in Scots Law from the University of Glasgow.
