Kim Small

Kim is an Advisor & Principal of the New England Consulting Group, and a key member of our strategy, CPG and innovation practices.

Kim is a global senior executive with world-class strategy development and practical operations experience. In her 30-year career, she has led international operating businesses and strategy divisions for blue-chip companies like Kraft, Campbell, Danone and PepsiCo. She has worked internationally in the UK, Hungary, France, Sweden and Switzerland.

Prior to joining the New England Consulting Group, Kim was a managing partner at F.A. Consulting, an international consulting firm providing strategic assessments and business plans for private equity firms.

At PepsiCo, Kim launched a new Dairy Division for the company. She provided leadership in structuring successful partnerships while working across political, cultural and geographic borders.

During her 15 years at Danone, Kim gained solid P&L experience, profitably turning around, building and growing major businesses. She was President of country businesses in the UK, Hungary and Sweden, as well as President of the global business for the yogurt brands, Activia and Vitalinea. Additionally, Kim developed the global strategy for Danone’s entry into the baby food category. She is a leader who is adept at creating new business models, entering new segments and dramatically accelerating sales growth.

Prior to moving to Europe to work with Danone, Kim worked in increasingly senior marketing positions at Pepperidge Farm, a division of Campbell Soup, and Kraft Foods in the United States. Kim’s heart lies in brand marketing, communications, innovation, strategy development and management coaching.

Her background presents a unique combination of the business and performing arts worlds, having spent seven years as a professional flutist in the tri-state area around New York. She played with groups such as the New Jersey Symphony, the New York Philharmonic and on Broadway.

Kim received an MBA from the Columbia University School of Business, a Master of Flute Performance from the Juilliard School and a BA, Magna Cum Laude, from Barnard College. She is fluent in French, with a working knowledge of Spanish.
