Mike is an Advisor & Principal of the New England Consulting Group, and a key member of our private equity, restaurant, and CPG practice teams.
With over 35 years in leadership roles at Fortune 50 consumer, B2B, and private equity-backed companies, Mike is an expert in strategic growth with a proven ability to accelerate revenue, while simultaneously bringing operational improvements, and in particular, Lean manufacturing.
Mike’s notable career began in marketing with Clairol (now P&G) and was followed by being named a PepsiCo president, twice. Mike was a Pepsi President, followed by being a Pizza Hut CEO, prior to PepsiCo’s spinoff of the restaurants into YUM Brands. At Pizza Hut, he is credited with expanding their global footprint from 68 to 92 countries.
Subsequently, Mike has built private equity portfolio companies, as CEO, for Audax Capital, Riverside Company, Pouschine-Cook Capital Management, and Rutledge Capital. He also served as an Operating Partner at Falconhead Capital, and as such, has “been on all 3 sides of the street.” Most recently, Mike served as interim CEO for an Audax portfolio company.
As a sought-after leader with exceptional financial acumen, Mike has also been a valued and motivational outside director. He is master level certified by both the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD), and the American College of Corporate Directors (ACCD). He served on three public company boards, chaired all three public company compensation committees, served on seven private equity, and one $1 billion family-owned company board, and has authored numerous pieces on private equity, and boards.
Mike holds an MBA in Marketing and a Bachelor of Engineering, both from New York University. He is also an active private pilot, with a multi-engine rating.
