Tom is an Advisor & Principal of the New England Consulting Group, and a key member of our foodservice and hospitality practice teams.
Tom’s career spans 25 years in a vast array of industries with experience in general management, international business and strategic planning. During this time, he has served in a variety of substantial leadership roles, most recently President and CEO of HMSHost. Since he joined the company in 2012, Tom led HMSHost in reshaping the travel dining experience, creating a level of excellence in food & beverage, customer service, and innovation that is unmatched in the industry.
Tom is a senior executive who is a proven growth oriented CEO and has delivered substantive results across a number of consumer facing businesses. He is an expert in the operations of multi-national companies and has a tremendous understanding of consumer preferences and trends.
Prior to HMSHost, Tom was CEO of Cartridge World and oversaw 1,700 units operating in 63 countries. In addition to his experience leading Cartridge World, Tom brings an abundance of hands-on experience with PepsiCo, Home Depot and Giant Eagle grocery stores, as well as serving as a consultant for Bain & Company and Cannon Associates.
Tom has lived and worked abroad in strategic positions, most notably with PepsiCo in Sydney, as CEO of The Smith’s Snackfood company in Australia and President of Frito-Lay in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
He is on the Board of the Atlanta History Center. He is also a Member of the Board of Trustees of the U.S. Naval Academy Alumni Association, Athletic and Scholarship Programs, as well as a member of Denver Mayor Michael Hancock’s Denver International Airport Management Advisory Committee.
Tom is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy with a BS in Mechanical Engineering. Upon graduation, he served as a Naval Intelligence Officer. After several additional assignments, Tom left the Navy to attend Stanford University where he earned an MBA.
